The Organisation was established on 6 August 1996 as a regional branch of Latvian Landlords' and Tenants' Association. On 15 December 1997 it was registered as an independent organisation - Landlords and Tenants Association of Ogre. Since 2004 its name is Consumer Rights Protection Organisation of Ogre. The Chairperson of the organisation is Ilga Vecziedina.

The organisation is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation, which unites the private bodies and legal entities.

The main objective of the organisation is to work for protection of consumer interests and for development of the living conditions and standards of Ogre inhabitants.

The Ogre organisation works on promoting the interests of Ogre society in local municipality.

The organisation has successful co-operation with consumer organisations in Latvia, as well with organisations abroad. The main partners of the organisation in Latvia are Consumer Protection Club of Rezekne and Tenants Association of Liepaja.
